Thai Massage Level 1

4 days (over 3 weekends) – with Sarah Uquhart-Taylor

Sometimes refered to as "Lazy man's yoga", Nuad Bo-Rarn (Northern style) Thai massage is performed on a mat rather than a table, which allows for highly effective use of the practitioner's body weight, rather than muscular force.

Thai massage incorporates elements from many other modalities including Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Myofascial Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy and structural integration.

Level 1: Foundation of Thai Massage covers the front of the body (feet to face) and introduces the concept of Sen energy lines. Stretches, acupressure and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet are all taught and abdominal (Hara) work is also introduced.

Upon completion, students will be able to perform an effective

1-1 ½ hr Thai massage.

Certification will be issued by International Training Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is an internationally recognised qualification from the Institute of Thai Massage (ITM).
